We waited for 20 minutes to get our order taken but the prices are right and it smells good in here.

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Rude, food cold and no flavor. Had to call waitress numbers times to get her attention. Got only one drink the 2 hours I waited til food came. Order chicken fajitas, only got 6 very small pieces. Then wasn't even given a plate to eat on. NEVER GOING BACK!

We waited 10 minutes to get seated, no one greeted us when we go there. Chips were stale, Salsa was ok (probably the only thing i liked) food was terrible. Never again am i going to this place. My business will be taken to DON PEDROS which is a real mexican reataurant!

2 nd time in 9 years. Bland, slow service, just try and find a waitress, i dare you!! Was not worth my gas to go up that hill. How is it that with all the mexicans, latinos, in st george...we can't find great mexican food, ie, bubbling cheese, spicy food and great service? Gee wiz, jokes on us, isn't it. Gringo from California, have to make my own enchildas.

It's been at least 15 years since I've been to Paula's. I had taken it off my radar but my wife suggested it last night and we had some friends who are new to the area and had never been there so we decided to go. Paulas is certainly an old school fill with down-to-earth people there and the food is amazing I ordered the Paulas special chimichanga and I left very satisfied I rarely give a five star but when you're in St. George and you want some tasty Mexican food this is the place !

First time visit was best Mexican experience in St. George. I had Chili Verde Burrito and it was wonderful. Chips and salsa were also good. I recommend it and I'm not affiliated in any way. My wife enjoyed her meal as well. We'll be back for sure.

If there is a restaurant that is embedded as part of St. George life, it is Paula's. A few things to try: 1- chips and salsa 2- cheese quesadilla dipped in salsa 3- fajitas 4- Paula's Burrito Especial The atmosphere is decent and the view is grand. Give it a try.

Paula's is a Saint George staple nestled on the side of a hill and has remained mostly the same over the years. If you have never been its worth at least one stop. The food is mostly mild and served on a hot plate of standard dishes. I typically prefer more flavor or heat in Mexican food or a standout dish. Service is slow but friendly and the place is kept clean.

Use to go here all the time. Good was great, loved the chips and salsa, service was pretty on the money. That's the only reason this is two stars instead of one. About a year or so ago, quality went down while prices went up. The food was not nearly as good, chips and salsa portions got noticeably smaller with each refill. But hey, something new popped up on the menu: a sharing fee! --Pass. I'd guess some changes happened in management, so we switched to Don Pedro's which is much better in price and food. Also no sharing fee.

The food and drinks were not expensive, per se, but a poor value. The wait staff was spread too thin and nobody seemed happy to be there at all. Two margaritas and a chile verde burrito was $32+ tip. Mediocre food and weak drinks, I wouldn't go back. And there was a weird sulphur smell in the parking lot.

Every time I come here it gets better. They've always had good food, the salsa is the best in town, as for entrées, I've always gotten the chicken enchiladas. But recently one of the servers turned me on to the specials, and I haven't gone back. Tried the Chicken Ranch Burrito, which was great, and the Bean Dip is amazing. And the blue Margarita Special is a bit sweet, but good nonetheless.

Meh. The food was alright. Overpriced for being so mediocre. The salads that come with the meals was the best part. Worst part was our waitress rarely filled did refills and a we would have to ask her to refill. That right there is strikes 2 and 3.

Cheap Mexican imitation that's not cheap. Go to Taco Bell you will get the same food cheaper. The service is the same as the place, been there a long time and not trying to impress.... Many, many better choices in st George!!

Great service and excellent food. Went with a group of 6 all ordered something different and everything was great. Will definitely be going back if in St George again.

A few things to get out of the way up front. Even though the restaurant is considered Mexican by the locals, even the staff will tell you that it's Americanized Tex-Mex. Secondly, native St. George people love it and many that have been around for probably 40 years or more will place Paula's on a pedestal. Paula's was one of the first if not the first Mexican restaurants in the area starting humbly in Washington, UT; moving later to larger quarters and finally to its current location and there are many locals that will refer to Paula's as authentic Mexican. I was in town recently and met some friends for dinner. Nothing has changed in the 20+ years since my last visit to Paula's. The lobby is filled with family photos of Paula and her husband Conrad, a long-time beloved police officer in the St. George area. The tone for the evening started off on the wrong foot. Our group was seated at a pair of tables with a considerable amount of rice and chip crumbs on the floor beneath the table. After being seated those of us who wanted ordered margaritas that were good but not spectacular. The mix tasted familiar but I can't say with certainty what brand it is. They were definitely not made from scratch. Looking at the menu is somewhat overwhelming. It seems that it could be pared down considerably. By the way, the current menu is not the one on their website. That menu would be considerably easier to decide your choice than the one we had. Chips and salsa started the night, the chips very good but the salsa was only borderline good, actually rather unspectacular. I don't know if the recipe has been adapted for the taste of a definitely older population in the area or if my nostalgia for Paula's has made the salsa of years gone taste better. Our server was very nice. She did seem a little rushed to get our order in but never pressed us to order to the point of being pushy. Her only service faux pas was forgetting one of our party's taco that came with the meal. Minor I agree, but she shouldn't have to be reminded twice after she brought out our meals. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this is not the place. Those of our party that got burritos commented on an extremely crispy shell but no one would say that it was overcooked. The Enchilada Grande I had was good. But that was it. Nothing stood out but I really can't say that anything was wrong. The dish was what it was. Americanized Tex-Mex designed for a largely retirement/young family community. One note to consider is the rice. There are those that like a moister rice (me) and there are those that like a dry rice. Paula's serves the latter. I ate none of my rice even mixed with the enchilada sauce. My girlfriend who is the opposite "riceologist" from me loved hers. Conrad and Paula have long since retired and their son and daughter run the business following in their parents footsteps. They do a good job and so far it appears that they are smart enough to not change what has worked in St. George for 40 some-odd years. Paula's is a St. George icon but understand exactly what Paula's is. And those of us that grew up in St. George will always love what it is.

Poor quality Tex Mex. Covered in cheddar cheese. The only thing good was the location.

Quickie review: Good chips & salsa and cold beer. The enclosed patio is lame, they should've left it open for the awesome views! Food was decent but nothing great.
